After Rest Comes Consecration: How My 33rd Birthday Staycation Reset My Spirit
After rest comes consecration.
Rest realigns us—but consecration re-centers us on God.
This weekend, I celebrated turning 33 by gifting myself something sacred: a staycation with purpose. Not just a break from life—but a return to the Source of life.
Packing Light, Traveling Deep
As I packed, I kept it simple—comfy outfits, toiletries, skincare… and yes, my Clorox wipes, Lysol, and Febreze because we’re not playing about peace or cleanliness. 😌
But what I really packed was expectancy.
When I arrived, I noticed I was on the 3rd floor—a quiet reminder of completeness and divine wholeness. God speaks if you’re paying attention.
From Broken to Whole—And Still Becoming
Over the last four years, God has done deep work in me. Healing that wasn’t cute. Prayers that weren’t polished. Surrender that cost me comfort.
And yet—He took me from Broken to Whole.
But I know this: God is not done with my story.
This next chapter requires a deeper level of consecration—which is why this rest wasn’t optional. It was overdue.
Consecration is an intentional decision to return to God with:
• a focused heart
• clear priorities
• and a renewed commitment to walk His way
Not striving. Not performing. Just aligning.
The Rhythm Rest
During this staycation, I let my soul breathe.
I prayed.
I journaled.
I meditated on His Word.
I rested… then rested some more.
I enjoyed good food (because balance is holy too), treated my body to a massage and facial, and took quiet walks in the park—alone with my thoughts, admiring God’s creation. No agenda. No rush. Just presence.
That’s where clarity met me.
A New Posture for a New Year
This is Thir-Tea-Three for me:
- a renewed mind
- more wisdom
- greater clarity
- unwavering confidence
- steady consistency
- and bold courage
I’m not trying to do more—I’m choosing to be more aligned.
And alignment always produces fruit.
If you’ve been feeling stretched, tired, or spiritually off-center—this is your reminder:
Slow down. Rest. Then return to God with intention.
Rest prepares the ground.
Consecration plants the seed.
Affirm Yourself Girl 🗣️
I honor rest as preparation, not procrastination.
I consecrate my life to God with clarity and courage.
I am aligned, renewed, and becoming everything He promised.
Say it out loud.
As you move through your days, remember this:
Slow doesn’t mean stuck.
Quiet doesn’t mean idle.
And rest doesn’t mean you’ve lost momentum.
#WalkByFaithAndSlay + Pray each and every day… because God will make a way. ✨☕
